This was a project assigned from the teacher. We had to do our own masks, Prepare props, and present the monologue with emotion.
Penelope
Emotion: longing
Topic: How she felt lonely when Odysseus didn’t return and how she suffered.
You may not be here with me
However images of you are always on my mind and heart
Without you the sun forgets to shine
Without you, the world is an endless river of sorrow
Without you, my life has no meaning
I close my eyes hoping that when I open them I will see you.
Have you ever felt lonely in a deep ocean of people? Well that’s how I feel
I feel lonely as a moon in the dark sky
I miss you so much
I miss you like a flower without its petals
I miss you like the ocean never ends
I miss you more than the sun misses the sky at night.
I miss you dreadfully Odysseus, please return
You can never imagine the hardships I faced
You can never stand on your feet if you faced what I suffered
I always look to the horizon waiting to see your ship
And had an extremely hard time waiting
People tried to make me lose hope
And I was about to lose faith, yet I didn’t
And still in my heart I believed that you’re alive and well
I will never lose hope, never will give up and will wait forever
For heaven sake come back to me Odysseus!
