This was a task that was given to us in class.
Dear Penelope,
It’s been a long time. I think you all assumed I was dead, however,I survived that long journey. I suffered a lot, and it’s been hard to me, but I’m still alive, well and healthy. Every single day I thought and prayed for you and Telemachus, hoping you were fine. I was gone for 20 years and during these years I was struggling to find a way home. I just want to say one thing that I will surely come back, so wait for me.
Right after the Trojan War I was shipwrecked on an island. A goddess made my stuck on the island and never gave me permission to leave. I never wanted to stay there, and I've always hoped to find a way home. One day that Goddess gave me a choice between immortality or going back home and I for sure choose going home. After that, finally, I was allowed to leave the island. Then I went out to sea seeking a way to return home. I sailed for seventeen days without a sight of land. My boat was unsafe and fragile and due to that I knew it that wouldn't handle the intense and powerful waves. So after a while, the mast and sail of the boat were torn out by the waves, and I was thrown overboard, and somehow I managed to climb again on aboard the boat. Despite the fact, I risked my life and climbed the boat it was shattered to pieces by the sharp waves. I was forced to swim, and the goddess Leucothea helped me, and finally I reached an island. I’m currently stuck on that island, yet don’t worry I will somehow manage to find a way out to sea again as fast as possible.
I miss you both, miss your voices, miss your smiles, I’m genuinely homesick. I want to return, I feel lonely I wish you were with me, the both of you. You both are valuable, precious, and important to me. Penelope, wait for me I will definitely return. See you soon.
Love
Odysseus
